Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter Perry is the child of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. Her parents did not allow her to act with her parents till she reached the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the strain it might cause. Perry said that she was too shy to do any acting when she was in high school. However, she started playing in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring to the university from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry went to New York to search for television work landing small roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led her back to California which is where she discovered theater work. She appeared on Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, she starred alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie with the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. Perry was a regular character on the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. The actress was also featured on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The role was given to her through audition, even though she has a family tie with the role.
